Warriors’ Stephen Curry refutes Steve Kerr’s ‘tired’ statement amid shooting woes

The Golden State Warriors experienced a tough loss to the Denver Nuggets, with a final score of 119-103.

What particularly stung was the fact that they initially established a 16-point lead during the second quarter, only to lose it as the game progressed.

This defeat marked the seventh consecutive loss to the Nuggets for Stephen Curry and the team.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr noted that Curry has appeared fatigued in recent games.

“Steph has looked tired to me (in) the last couple of games,” Kerr said, per the Athletic's Anthony Slater. “The All-Star Game stuff, not getting much of a break, three games in four nights…So he looks a little tired but this is all part of the season.”

During Sunday's game, Curry scored 20 points while shooting 6-of-19 (31.6%) from the field. Out of his 10 three-point attempts, he only made one, and he ended the game with a -22 plus/minus rating.

Moreover, the two-time MVP has been shooting below par lately, with his field goal percentage falling below 36% in three out of the Warriors' last four games.

Despite these statistics, the four-time Champion is not making any excuses. In his media interview, Curry dismissed any suggestion that he might be tired.

“No,” Curry replied when asked if he felt fatigued. “It's why they're called averages. You've got the highs and the lows of it. The standard that you set when you don't meet it, there are questions: ‘Are your legs tired?' No, you just miss shots and you keep shooting. It's part of the nature of being available and playing every game.”

And Stephen Curry will continue to shoot. He is aiming to recover when the Warriors take on the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
