Journalist shares fresh Rangers development - report

Rangers Review reports that Philippe Clement is expressing dissatisfaction at the prospect of six key Rangers players leaving on a free transfer this summer.

Those players include John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe, Leon Balogun, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, and Jon McLaughlin, all of whom are nearing the end of their contracts at Ibrox.

There's been speculation about interest in Barisic and Lundstram from Turkish clubs.

However, Clement has conceded that there are currently no imminent deals to retain these players in Glasgow, contrary to his desires, with journalist Matthew Lindsay noting the manager's discontent.

“Clement is unhappy that six members of his squad – Leon Balogun, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Jon McLaughlin are the others – can leave for nothing in the summer,” they wrote.

“’There’s no reason to talk about anything.“Because you can say it’s close or it’s far away. But you can never really talk about that,’ Clement said.

“It’s close when it’s signed. When it’s not signed? Is it close or is it far? So there’s no reason to talk about those things until there’s an agreement.”

The Rangers board's most commendable decision in recent memory was appointing Clement as manager, as he has rejuvenated the club's credibility. Despite initially facing a significant points deficit in the league, Clement has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, positioning the team as potential favorites for the title by season's end. Additionally, their impressive European campaign further underscores their resurgence.

Clement has adeptly molded this modest squad into competitive contenders, showcasing his managerial prowess. However, an impending "mini-revolution" looms at Ibrox in the upcoming transfer window, signaling both incoming and outgoing player movements. It's anticipated that some of the players whose contracts are expiring may not be in the manager's plans.

Nonetheless, the club must prioritize retaining the players Clement values, as he has earned the authority to shape the squad according to his vision. This underscores the importance of supporting him in building a team that reflects his strategies and objectives.
