West Ham willing to ‘go all out’ for January signing - report

Three days ago, AS reported that West Ham United are in the race to sign Real Sociedad’s Brais Méndez.

The report indicated that the La Liga club is unwilling to negotiate, meaning the Hammers would need to activate his €60m release clause to secure the midfielder’s services.

According to Super Deporte, the 27-year-old’s performances this season have drawn West Ham’s attention. Méndez has contributed three goals and three assists in 22 appearances, making him an attractive target for the Premier League side, who are reportedly “willing to go all out” to sign him in January. The €60m release clause is considered affordable for West Ham.

Should Julen Lopetegui’s team submit a formal bid, Méndez is expected to “do his part” to persuade Real Sociedad to accept the offer. Although the Spanish club has no intention of selling him, they are aware that his representatives might pressure them to consider a bid if one is made.

This scenario could play out if West Ham opts to negotiate rather than triggering the release clause. A move to the London-based club would likely benefit Méndez both professionally and financially, making him inclined to join them.

Developments could unfold during the winter transfer window if West Ham decides to submit an offer to Real Sociedad.

Randal Kolo Muani offer made as sources reveal West Ham transfer news

West Ham United are monitoring Randal Kolo Muani closely as the January transfer window approaches, according to CaughtOffside.

The outlet, in a report published on December 29, claims that sources have revealed interest in the striker from Newcastle, Manchester United, Juventus, Napoli, and Borussia Dortmund, alongside the Hammers, who are owned by David Sullivan.

In a potential setback for West Ham and other suitors, Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to take the France international on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

The Gunners may explore the market for attacking reinforcements, particularly after Sky Sports reported on December 28 that Bukayo Saka is set to miss at least two months due to a hamstring injury.

This development could lead Arsenal to prioritize signing a winger rather than a striker, potentially giving West Ham an edge in their pursuit of Kolo Muani. However, Arsenal’s interest in Mohammed Kudus, who has impressed for West Ham, could complicate matters for the Hammers.

Kudus has reportedly emerged as a target for the North London club, though West Ham are confident of retaining him until at least the end of the season. That said, a January move cannot be entirely ruled out, as per GiveMeSport.

To finance new signings and manage their financial situation, West Ham might entertain offers in the region of £100 million for Kudus, which could open up avenues for strengthening their squad.
