Everything is on the line for the Golden State Warriors as they prepare for a critical Sunday afternoon clash with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The outcome of this game will decide whether the Warriors secure a direct playoff berth or are forced into the pressure-packed Play-In Tournament.

Head coach Steve Kerr didn’t hold back when addressing the team’s recent stretch. Following their game Friday night, Kerr offered a candid assessment of Golden State’s performance, signaling the urgency and stakes surrounding this final regular season showdown.

Now, it’s do-or-die time. One game will determine the Warriors’ path forward—and they’ll need to be at their best to avoid the Play-In and keep their championship hopes alive.

“We have to pass the ball better. We have to get spaced better. We have to develop a rhythm. We were in a better place, I think, a few weeks ago,” Kerr said, per Anthony Slater.

Steve Kerr admitted the Warriors were in a much better rhythm just a few weeks ago—and fans would be hard-pressed to disagree.

Golden State has been inconsistent throughout the season, with flashes of brilliance mixed with frustrating lows.

One week they look like contenders, the next they’re struggling to find cohesion. Right now, they’re far from looking like one of the Western Conference’s top threats.

Their recent win over the Portland Trail Blazers offered a temporary boost, but it came on the heels of a tough, deflating loss to the San Antonio Spurs. It’s been that kind of rollercoaster year for the Dubs.

Kerr understands what needs to shift and is determined to make those adjustments. Ideally, Sunday would have been a day to rest key players. But unlike teams such as the Thunder, Rockets, or Lakers, the Warriors are still battling for clarity on their postseason fate.

Now, Sunday’s game isn’t just about punching a playoff ticket—it’s about regaining control, tightening the screws, and showing they still have what it takes to compete on the biggest stage.
