Inter Miami is actively seeking their next superstar signing, with Paulo Dybala emerging as a potential target for the club.
The Argentine forward’s future at AS Roma is uncertain, as his contract is set to expire at the end of this season. Dybala is now reportedly a top target for Inter Miami under new manager Javier Mascherano.
Inter Miami has also been linked with other players like Angel Di Maria, and with Mascherano’s ties to the Argentine national team, there is a strong possibility he will use these connections to bring in a high-profile signing to team up with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Roma’s manager, Claudio Ranieri, has recently dropped a significant hint about Dybala’s future. He suggested that Roma would allow Dybala to leave if the player desires a move and if the club receives the right offer.
However, Inter Miami faces competition for Dybala, with Galatasaray also monitoring his situation at Roma. The 31-year-old forward has not yet made a decision on his next destination.
For Inter Miami, time may be of the essence as they aim to secure Dybala’s signature, especially with Ranieri’s recent comments suggesting that Dybala could leave after a challenging season with Roma.
Ranieri said: “I’m happy to have him, but if the boy has other priorities and a mutual solution is found, it’s right to please him. I want players who are happy to be at Roma. I haven’t seen this discomfort, however. We will have a market that will improve Roma, we won’t buy players just for the sake of buying.”
In his third season at Roma, Dybala’s time in the Italian capital has been a mix of highs and lows. The versatile forward has occasionally showcased why he was once regarded as one of Europe’s top strikers, but has also been plagued by recurring injury issues.
Paulo Dybala at Roma | Games played | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 18 | 2 | 1 |
2023/24 | 38 | 16 | 10 |
2022/23 | 38 | 18 | 8 |
Dybala’s statistics this season reflect a notable decline in form compared to his previous two years at Roma, having scored only two goals across all competitions.
While his overall quality and experience at the top level in Europe would make him a valuable addition to Inter Miami, the Herons may need to reconsider pursuing the 31-year-old given his current performance.
