Pokémon GO has introduced the GO Pass, a new feature launching on April 1 in select regions. Designed to give trainers more opportunities to collect items and Pokémon, this pass is being rolled out as a trial.

While new, the concept isn’t entirely unfamiliar. Earlier this year, in preparation for the GO Tour: Unova, Pokémon GO introduced the Tour Pass, a battle pass-style system that rewarded players and enhanced their experience during Niantic’s annual augmented reality event.

The first version, GO Pass: April, will be available from Tuesday, April 1, at 10 AM until Tuesday, May 6, at 10 AM (local time). Like the Unova Pass, trainers in certain regions will receive a free pass, allowing them to complete tasks, earn points, and level up to unlock rewards.

However, just like in past events, these rewards must be claimed before they expire—by Tuesday, April 8, at 10 AM (local time).

Additionally, a paid version of the GO Pass will launch on April 1, offering both premium and free-tier rewards. The announcement also hints at plans to expand the feature globally in the future.

Rewards for reaching milestones

Tier 1:

Tier 2:

Tier 3:
Increased Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs.

Trainers who complete GO Pass tasks will earn rewards such as XP, Stardust, and encounters with Pokémon like Xerneas, the Legendary from Gen 6. Upgrading from the free pass to the paid version unlocks even better perks, including Premium Battle Passes, Candy XL, and the Lucky Trinket—an item that temporarily turns a Friend into a Lucky Friend, guaranteeing the next trade results in a Lucky Pokémon.

Hitting key milestones brings even bigger bonuses:

Tier 1: Doubles the duration of Daily Adventure Incense

Tier 2: Increases XP and Stardust from Research Breakthrough rewards

Tier 3: Grants extra XP and Stardust from hatching Eggs

April also brings the Spring to Spring event, introducing Gossifleur and Eldegoss to Pokémon GO. From April 9 to 14, players will encounter shiny Fletchling, shiny Remoraid, and other wild spawns like Growlithe and different regional forms of Exeggutor.

Additionally, the April Fool’s Day event on April 1 will scatter Poké Balls across the map. Interacting with them gives trainers a chance to catch Pokémon such as Voltorb and Electrode (both normal and regional forms), Foongus, Amoongus, and Galarian Stunfisk.
