Ludvig Aberg Details Plans to Dethrone Scottie Scheffler at The Masters

After a quiet few weeks, the PGA Tour is ramping up with two major events leading into the season’s first major.

Players have gathered in Orlando for the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Golf Club, which tees off Thursday.

The Tour will then head to The PLAYERS Championship as top golfers prepare for The Masters in April.

One standout performer this season is Swedish sensation Ludvig Aberg. The 25-year-old recently secured his biggest PGA Tour victory at The Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines and is now focused on adding more titles—especially his first major at Augusta National.

To prepare, Aberg plans to take a scouting trip to Augusta, a strategy often used by top players, before competing in the Valero Texas Open just ahead of The Masters.

“We’re going to go on a trip after THE PLAYERS, I’m actually bringing my dad, which will be really cool, to go play Augusta,” Aberg said to the media. “So I get to see a golf course again for the first time since last April, so we’ll see if there’s going to be any changes.”

Ludvig Aberg should head into Augusta with plenty of confidence after making a stunning impression at last year’s Masters.

In his major championship debut, the Swedish star finished solo second at 7-under par, trailing only Scottie Scheffler.

While contenders like Max Homa and Collin Morikawa struggled on Sunday, Aberg kept the competition alive with his steady play.

Though Scheffler ultimately proved too strong, claiming his Masters title, Aberg’s composure and ability to navigate one of golf’s toughest courses showcased his immense potential.

Many believe a Green Jacket is in his future. Dethroning Scheffler—who remains the world’s No. 1 player and has won The Masters twice in the past three years—will be a tough task, but if anyone can do it, Aberg is certainly a top contender.
