The New York Knicks could have a potential opportunity to trade for Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George this offseason.

Michael Saenz of Sir Charles in Charge pointed to possible buyer’s remorse as a reason the 76ers might consider moving George, according to The Sporting News’ Caleb Hightower.

The 34-year-old had a below-average 2024-25 season by his standards, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

Although those stats fall short of his typical All-NBA numbers, the Fresno State alum remains one of the league’s top two-way players.

His elite shot creation could potentially be a stronger fit in New York than someone like Mikal Bridges.

Despite the Knicks’ current depth and talent, they still seem to be missing a key piece to break through in the Eastern Conference—let alone contend for an NBA title.

George offers a more refined version of what Bridges brings on both ends of the court. His veteran experience and elite three-point shooting—whether off the catch or off the dribble—could make him an ideal complement to Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, and OG Anunoby.

While George’s salary—exceeding $50 million annually for the next three seasons—would present a cap challenge for New York, he remains a high-impact option if he becomes available on the trade market.
