Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is turning heads in the music scene with an unexpected collaboration — a duet with fellow Italian and tennis star Jannik Sinner.
Their new track, titled Polvere e Gloria (translated as Dust and Glory), blends music and sport in a creative way.
It features Sinner’s own words, drawn from his victory and post-match speeches, recorded at Bocelli’s studio in the scenic Tuscan countryside.
Billed as a “musical conversation between two Italian legends,” the piece combines the emotional power of opera with a narrative flair, sung in both Italian and English.
Sinner expressed his delight about the project, saying: “I am very happy and honoured to be part of this project with Andrea, who for 30 years has been a unique and extraordinary voice, a flag for our country in the rest of the world.
“I could never have imagined hearing my voice in one of his songs. It’s extremely moving.”
The music video for the duet promises an emotional experience, featuring a blend of personal and archival footage from both Andrea Bocelli’s and Jannik Sinner’s early lives, along with scenes from their recent time together at Bocelli’s Tuscan estate.
The highly anticipated release is set for June 20 under Decca Records/Universal Music.
Sinner recently made history by becoming the first Italian to reach the top of the world tennis rankings.
Bocelli, who began his remarkable journey in 1994 with the album Il Mare Calmo Della Sera, first captured hearts performing in piano bars.
Since then, he has sold nearly 90 million records worldwide and performed at major global events like the Olympic Games and the World Cup, earning his place as one of the world’s most beloved musical figures.
