As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches its final stretch, more information is emerging about the prospects the Los Angeles Chargers are meeting with.
Earlier today, The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler reported that the Chargers are scheduled to meet later this week with Arizona running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt.
According to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz, Croskey-Merritt marks the second Arizona player the team has shown interest in. The Chargers have already met with wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, a projected first-round selection.
Schultz also shared a reported quote from an executive of a 2024 playoff team regarding McMillan.
“He’s got true star-level tools and elite production,” the executive said. “Our entire building loves him. There’s just no way he makes it to us.”
There’s been speculation online that the Chargers might be the only playoff team referenced in Jordan Schultz’s report, though that remains unconfirmed and purely conjecture at this point.
Tetairoa McMillan wrapped up his final college season with 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns. Known for his size and strong ball skills, he’s a vertical threat who gives defenses problems. Last season, he posted a 60% contested catch rate and earned one of the highest PFF grades (89.1) against man coverage among receivers in the draft class.
There’s been some conversation surrounding his speed after he opted not to run at the NFL Combine. At his pro day, he clocked a 4.53 in the 40-yard dash. However, he didn’t complete the agility or explosiveness tests, so he didn’t register a Relative Athletic Score.
That said, McMillan’s game film shows he’s fast enough for the kind of physical, high-point playstyle he brings. He may not be a burner, but he doesn’t need to be.
In a mock draft last month, Daniel Jeremiah projected McMillan to the Chargers at pick 22 and ranked him as the 18th-best prospect overall.
In personal rankings, McMillan comes in as the WR2 in this year’s class, just behind 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
It’ll be interesting to see how things play out on draft night. If McMillan is still on the board around pick 22, the Chargers—armed with 10 total selections—might even consider moving up slightly to secure him.
