Manchester United are bracing for a hectic summer in the transfer market as they continue their efforts to bolster the squad.

The club has already completed a major signing, bringing in Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal earlier this summer. Now, attention turns to further reinforcements as United prepare for the new season.

With the Premier League campaign kicking off on August 17 against Arsenal at Old Trafford, manager Ruben Amorim and the club’s top brass are working hard behind the scenes. United are aiming to finalize more signings before the opening fixture, while also keeping an eye on the September 1 transfer deadline.

Here’s a roundup of the latest transfer developments surrounding United over the past 24 hours:

An update has emerged on United’s pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. Despite seeing two bids rejected, the Red Devils remain eager to bring the Cameroon international to Old Trafford.

According to The i Paper, Mbeumo’s potential move is being influenced by other high-profile deals. Chelsea’s £60 million bid for Joao Pedro and Newcastle’s reported £55 million offer for Anthony Elanga are said to have reinforced Brentford’s valuation of their star man.

Brentford are reportedly holding out for a fee exceeding £60 million before even entertaining discussions around performance-related add-ons.

The Manchester Evening News notes that while United are clearly serious about landing Mbeumo, negotiations are dragging out—likely due to the inflated market and Brentford’s firm stance on valuation.

Javi Guerra Also on United’s Radar

United are also reportedly keen on Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. Italian journalist Daniele Longo (Calciomercato) claims that the 22-year-old is edging closer to a move to Old Trafford, though the fee Valencia would demand remains unclear.

With Christian Eriksen having departed the club on a free transfer, United are looking to add depth in midfield. Guerra’s ability to play in various central roles could offer tactical flexibility for Amorim’s system, should a deal be struck.
