Unless you’ve been completely out of the loop, you’ve likely heard that Bayern Munich are aiming to strengthen their attack this summer.

The German giants have been linked with several forwards, with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao emerging as a key target.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Bayern could make a “serious” push for the 25-year-old, potentially offering between £42m and £50m.

However, Di Marzio notes that AC Milan are reluctant to let Leao go unless an irresistible bid comes in. Leao contributed to 16 goals for Milan last season, and the Italian club might demand a significantly higher fee than Bayern’s reported offer.

Christian Falk mentioned to CFBayern that Bayern’s squad planner, Nils Schmadtke, is a big admirer of Leao, though no formal approach has been made yet.

“I was first told by the club that the interest in Rafael Leão was not hot,” the head of football at BILD exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“There were reports that Bayern met Leao for negotiations in Munich. There were rumors that Bayern would soon make an offer.

“So far, nothing has been confirmed. Nils Schmadtke, squad planner of FC Bayern, is a supporter of Leao. But for Bayern the price tag of €100m from Milan is too high for Bayern.”

Bayern Munich were prepared to splash out a hefty transfer fee for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, who is now nearing a move to Liverpool.

It’s unclear whether Bayern would be willing to meet AC Milan’s valuation for Portuguese star Rafael Leao. Earlier this week, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AC Milan are in the market for a new centre-back this summer, with Bayern’s Kim Min-Jae identified as a potential target.

Min-Jae is among the players Bayern might consider selling if a suitable offer arrives. In such a scenario, Bayern could propose including the South Korean defender in a deal to secure Leao.

Beyond Leao, Bayern also have their sights set on Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, though prising the winger away from Anfield will be a tough challenge.

Since Todd Boehly's hefty investment, Chelsea has been one of the most active teams in the transfer market. The Blues have recently shown interest in Borussia Dortmund's winger Karim Adeyemi, a standout player who has caught the eye of several top clubs. According to the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool has now entered the fray to sign Adeyemi, joining Chelsea in the pursuit. Napoli had been in talks for the German star after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's move to Paris Saint-Germain but found his price tag prohibitive, paving the way for the English clubs. Dortmund has set Adeyemi's valuation at around £38 million, and there's a suggestion that he might be allowed to leave before the transfer window closes if the offer is right. Liverpool, with their financial capability, could outbid Chelsea, especially given their current standing in competitions. Liverpool are leading the Premier League and are in a strong position in the Champions League, which could be very appealing to Adeyemi. At Anfield, he would join a squad with a real shot at winning titles, potentially earning two medals by the end of the 2024/25 season. While Chelsea boasts a wealth of wing options, Liverpool's need for new wide players is evident with the uncertain future of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah, all of whom have been linked with moves away. This scenario would likely guarantee Adeyemi significant playing time at Liverpool. Chelsea's main advantage over Liverpool might be their financial muscle, having spent lavishly in recent transfer windows. They could potentially offer Dortmund more money and a more lucrative deal for Adeyemi. Nevertheless, it seems increasingly likely that Adeyemi could soon make a move to the Premier League from Germany.
