Arsenal are reportedly exploring a six-month loan move for a highly accomplished winger with 25 major titles to his name as a temporary replacement for the injured Bukayo Saka.
Saka sustained a hamstring injury during the Gunners’ 5-1 win over Crystal Palace, which required surgery. While no precise timeline has been provided for his return, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Saka will be sidelined for “more than two months.”
Even prior to Saka’s injury, Arsenal’s attack had appeared less potent in open play. According to The Evening Standard, the need to strengthen the forward line was evident before Saka’s absence.
One potential solution is Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich. The report highlights that Arsenal held discussions about the 28-year-old last summer and that he was available on loan.
Coman, who has won 11 league titles across his spells with PSG, Juventus, and Bayern, could once again be an option for the Gunners.
Bayern reportedly considered offloading Coman after signing Michael Olise to refresh their attack. With Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane, and Serge Gnabry firmly in Bayern’s plans, Coman was deemed surplus to requirements. While he stayed at Bayern, the possibility of a January loan deal is still on the table.
Coman, a right-footed player, has primarily operated on the left wing this season but is equally effective on the right. He has made 117 appearances for Bayern on the right flank, contributing 19 goals and 27 assists.
Another potential option for Arsenal is PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani, who has been granted permission to leave in January. The 26-year-old is already attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
In addition, MilanLive reports that Arsenal may target AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze as a replacement for Saka. The 25-year-old winger could be part of a deal involving Arsenal offering a defender to sweeten negotiations with the Italian club.
