One Manchester United player is attracting significant interest, with an offer that could be too tempting to refuse—especially with the Red Devils unlikely to secure European football next season.

Diogo Dalot has reportedly caught the attention of two major clubs, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid closely monitoring his performances.

That’s according to TeamTalk, which states: “What has particularly impressed Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, along with Real, is Dalot’s consistency and adaptability – which have made him a target for top European clubs.”

The 27-time capped Portugal international has been a polarizing figure among Manchester United fans. While he has shown flashes of form in individual matches, consistency over a prolonged period has often eluded him.

One of Dalot’s standout qualities, however, has been his durability. Alongside Bruno Fernandes, he has remained a reliable presence throughout multiple seasons, proving invaluable amid recurring injury crises.

His last absence due to fitness issues was in February 2023, and before that, he hadn’t been sidelined since 2019.

Still, after seven years at the club, lingering doubts remain about his long-term suitability for the squad.

If questions persist over his role, is he truly the right player to hold down the position? Especially when a significant transfer fee could be secured from his departure.

On the other hand, when hailing Dalot as United’s ‘unsung hero’ of the 2023/2024 term, BBC Sport’s Josh Lobley penned: “The right-back has had the best campaign of his career. He earned a nomination for the Premier League team of the season and the 118 tackles and interceptions he made were only bettered by four defenders in the entire division.

“According to Fbref, Dalot has not made an error (defined as a mistake leading to an opponent’s shot) in all of 2023-24. The same cannot be said for fellow defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Willy Kambwala, who have all made errors in significantly fewer minutes than the Portuguese. It is fair to say that he has been one of, if not the most reliable player in a red shirt this season.”
