The Scottish Premiership doesn’t receive the global attention of the English Premier League or other top European leagues.

However, any Celtic vs. Rangers derby is broadcast across the globe, from North America to the farthest corners of the world, as it is regarded as one of the greatest rivalries in football.

Adding to the drama, Celtic defeated Rangers on penalties this past Sunday following a thrilling and exhausting 3-3 draw after 120 minutes.

For Celtic fans, it’s a final to remember for years to come. For Rangers fans, though, it might also linger, as the post-match reactions made it sound like Philippe Clement’s side had emerged victorious.

Even after Daizen Maeda’s decisive penalty, the reverberations of Rangers fans’ disappointment could be felt far and wide, accompanied by talk of a potential statement from the Scottish Football Association (SFA).

In Glasgow derby clashes, Celtic have a remarkable record: play well, they win; play poorly, they win. Whether at Hampden, Parkhead, or Ibrox—whether they concede first or score first—Celtic finds a way to triumph. In the Premiership, Scottish Cup, or League Cup finals, it’s the same story: they win.

That said, according to Mark Guidi on Go Radio, the SFA is expected to release a statement within 24-48 hours regarding the VAR decision not to award a penalty to Vaclav Cerny.

“Willie Collum, who is the head of the referees for the SFA, I think there will be some form of statement from the SFA in the next 24-48 hours stating that they got it wrong,” claimed Guidi.

“That the VAR official Alan Muir got it wrong to not flag that up to the match referee, John Beaton.”

In case you missed it, Rangers have brought in a new chief executive, who reportedly began work on Monday.

How many managers and board members is Rodgers dealing with at this point?

Regardless, Barry Ferguson believes Patrick Stewart should “demand answers from the SFA” over the VAR decision not to award a penalty, as he mentioned on Go Radio.

“It’s 100% a penalty and I am sure, Patrick Stewart, the new chief executive starting (Monday), I am sure he will demand some answers from the SFA, in terms of the comments from VAR,” cried Ferguson after Guidi’s revelation
