New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, fresh off a UEFA Conference League win, is eager to bolster his attacking options and views Lopez as a strong addition to his squad.
Earlier this month, Mundo Deportivo reported that Chelsea even proposed a swap deal involving Lopez and Christopher Nkunku, who has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
However, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and manager Hansi Flick are reportedly not interested in such an exchange.
Lopez has proven to be a valuable asset for Barcelona, contributing eight goals and eight assists under Flick.
His versatility—able to play across the front three or in a central attacking role—adds to his appeal for top clubs.
Bayern had initially hoped to land Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a big-money deal, but the young German opted to join Liverpool instead.
With that door closed, Bayern are exploring other options including Nico Williams, Rafael Leao, and Cody Gakpo, though no formal bids have been made for the latter two.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Bayern have already made contact regarding Lopez, but the 22-year-old is reportedly committed to staying at Barcelona.
Despite making just 12 starts in La Liga last season, Lopez has made key contributions and seems to be part of Flick’s plans moving forward.
